Falling Softness

All of these photos are shots from natural landscapes in natural setting and unaltered tropical forest atmosphere, and are straight out of the camera. Our small adventure started at 3:00 am when we left the house to the airport to catch an early morning flight to an island south of the main island of Luzon in the Philippines. We took a plane, a boat through unwelcoming current and big waves, then a jeepney circuitously maneuvering undulating roads, then hiked a few meters before going down hundreds of steps, 365 steps to be exact, just to reach some falls some of which look like these. The bigger falls i already posted in a previous post ( HERE).

Another area in another province in another island tried to use some of their water resources in making picnic areas. They channeled the water to more comfortable and friendly setting like the pool below. Children can now use the slide and the pool and play in nearby clearings.

You be the judge, will you take a few days leave and do what we did? I am somehow consoled when we saw some foreigners also going to the falls. They came from farther distances more than us, wherever they came from. And which among the photos you like most?

  2. Andrea, the pristine waterfalls are so beautiful! I would love to visit that place rather than the tame one in the last picture.

  12. These are great unedited shots - they would be fun to play around with a little in editing too. I love the second shot, you got a lovely creamy texture to the water and the composition and colors are lovely. I also like the fourth shot a lot, again a great capture of the water movement.

  16. I love looking at flowing water (but not the likes of dirty and clogged creeks or flood) especially when there's a waterfall. Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures.

BTW, the link you gave is broken.

  17. I think if it is worth the trip to you, that is all that matters. Sorry about the time difference for you. :-( I thought opening it on Tuesdays would make it better for all.

  24. Oh, Andrea! These are beautiful and refreshing photos. I cannot see any limitation you speak of. I can imagine the soothing sound that fills the space as well. Lovely! Spectacular really. I cannot pick a favorite . . . each is wonderful. I could not walk down or up that many steps right now. Sounds like a delicious getaway for you. If i were a child, I should love to slide into that pool! ;>)
