I have posted shots from this Waterfall visit. But it's been a long time and i haven't seen any waterfalls again since March. I didn't know that waterfall shooting is really addictive. And everytime Betsy and George (Joyful Reflections and Senior Hiker) respectively, post waterfalls, i feel an itch. They have already visited 452 waterfalls in the US within the vicinity of their home in Tennessee! Imagine that 452, and that is many many repeats for the whole waterfalls here in our country. So to pacify my almost uncontrollable longing, I am posting representatives of this waterfall again! This is the Tinuy-an Falls, Bislig, Surigao del Norte in Mindanao! I have here the link for the

The expanse and the height of this falls is already awesome among our waterfalls here in the country. I shot this before lunchtime.
This is the only waterfalls in the country where a reflection is easily taken.
We went back at sunset to have some different view of the falls, the many picknickers and bathers near the falls already went home at this hour.
Even a nun is allured of the falls, found her place in an outcrop facing the main falls, and prayed there! Everyone holding a camera saw the scene astounding, but i was the only one fast enough to take a shot! She noticed us and hurriedly left! I already have a remembrance!

Ah ---what a beauty, Andrea.. I LOVE that falls --and would be right there with that nun, praying and meditating.... AWESOME...
ReplyDeleteSummer is not a good time to see waterfalls in the states --especially since we have had so much drought lately.. BUT--we'll be back out there in the Fall/Winter/Spring searching for more!!!!!

What beautiful pictures Andrea. I love the one at sunset. They look like a wonderful place to be on a hot day. Who would think that something so powerful looking could make one feel so peaceful. They do soothe us.

ReplyDeleteHaha yes we scared the nun off, sorry about that! Light when we arrived was so harsh even if i have a CPL, so we returned in the afternoon for more shots. However, i was not able to get the lovely shots my professional companions achieved. It is okay though as i just tagged along with them. Yes i need to go out, if only i am near you, i am sure i can tag along with you too!
DeleteBeautiful shots, Andrea! My favorite is the one taken at dusk but closely rivalled by the contemplative serenity of the photo with the nun. I also like the reflection in the second shot. I wonder when I will get to post about waterfalls? I'll be going out of town next month's long weekend but the falls that will be near me is notoriously crowded and I expect it will be so if I ever decide to go.
ReplyDeleteHi Bom, what is the nearest falls near your place? In that first photo a lot of people are there too, haven't you noticed? But they are so negligible compared to the fall's size! By that time we will be in the north!
DeleteWe're heading in opposite directions then. I'm planning to go to Laguna so Pagsanjan is a relatively short drive away. Which part of the north are you planning to visit? I'll be in Pangasinan end of this month naman.
DeleteOh i've seen Pagsanjan when i was still in LB, long time ago. But it changed so much, and i don't want to see it anymore, prefer more isolated places. Our tickets to Laoag had been changed many times since January, we will be exploring the side areas. I've been there many times but not yet to Pagudpud, Bangui, Kapurpurawan, the falls.
DeleteOne of our favorite getaways is at the foot of Banahaw but I've only taken the kids to Pagsanjan once. Too touristy for my taste. Ang gulo! Enjoy your trip to the north especially the bagnet. I use to work in that province and miss it from time to time.

DeleteI love your waterfalls, I can't imagine 452 waterfalls in one state. I think Oklahoma has only one or two natural waterfalls.
