A gloomy day on the road

One weekend, as I am in a 2-hour bus ride on the Expressway to the province, i tried my best to get some shots of the scenery around. It was very difficult counteracting the bus shake, my arm shake, and all those movements, but i guess i got some passable shots here. I would like to share with you.

the colorful things hanging in front of the driver

photos above and below are still in the city, on my way out to the expressway

this is a deep ravine with profuse growths of vines, trees and a lot of bamboos

There are also parts of the sky where clouds are not yet black and gloomy

  1. From this morning? I hope the rain stays away for a while. Most of my plants are prone to root rot so I worry when it rains daily. Unfortunately, there appears to be another tropical storm forming. More gloomy days ahead.

  2. The first shot is interesting. The driver must be in love with money and animals...

Only 2 hours ride home? Shouldn't you go home more often? :)

  3. Hi Andrea, It's like I said in my blog today, there is beauty EVERYWHERE --and all we have to do is to look. You found some beauty to share with us --from your bus ride.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  4. Bom - you are so fast, i am still trying a new style of posting and just posted one photo yet when you commented, hahaha! I am too slow! I am sure you are happier now, as the sun shines brightly now!

One - you are back, i miss you. So back to blogging and kiasu? haha! I am sure you have lots of photos in stored while you are away. The 2hr ride is only a part of my travel, there's a lot more!

Betsy - yes beauty is just in the mind of the beholder, not only in the eyes. There is beauty in GLOOM! thanks.

  5. I think you did well to take those photos from a moving bus - it's hard to do

  6. I'm surprised but delighted to see that the ravine is still thick with plant life. Surprised because it seems that most of our countrymen are not mindful of the effect of vegetation loss. I bet a few more years and that area will be teeming with shanties and garbage. I hope I'm wrong.

  9. That is a lot of bling for the driver to have on his dash. Colorful too. I have trouble getting decent photos from a moving vehicle, you did pretty darn well.

  10. MIssy - thanks, actually most of the shots are blurred, hehe

SR - this is a newly opened hiway and i am really glad looking at those greens everytime, very de-stressing. The grasses on the shoulders are also sometimes so beautiful when flowering, and they haven't mowed yet. I wish get off sometimes and take photos. What you said is really sad, actually some parts near houses already have forecely opened fences, makint it look bad. I am with you in what you feel!

EGT - I have been posting lots of our surroundings. Maybe you just haven't seen some of them. Thanks for appreciation.

Yogi - i love travelling too especially when it is still green around both sides of the road.

Donna of GWGT - haha, those are really lots of blingblings, so i didn't let it pass unrecorded. If you will only see all my shots, most are blurred.

Greggo - thanks for dropping by, our sceneries are totally different vegetation than yours!

  12. I'm a big fan of drive by shooting and so these shots are fun to watch for me.

I'm trying to guess which direction you were going, and I can't.

  15. The photographs are good considering they were taken from a moving vehicle! The bus driver had a lot of stuff in front of him. I wonder what meaning those things had to him.

  16. Andrea, Yay! I like to follow you on the way home. I don't mind you doing this every time you go home, hehe.

  17. Joey - thanks also, you didn't reply to what program you use for making your wonderful collage, haha!

Photo Cache - sometimes i go to your drive by photos, but i can't seem to see nice photos for entry there. I am going south, this might not be here yet when you left the country.

Bridget - yes, blogging helps us to make use of our photos which otherwise are just stored in our files, thanks for the visit.

Cildemer - thanks for visiting here too. Maybe those blings amuse the driver so he wont fall asleep.

Linda - you should see the more blurred photos i have, it really is difficult. As the blings in front of the driver, i told Cildemer above they might help the driver to amuse him and not to fall asleep!

Autumn Belle - sometimes i wish i am in a private car so i can shoot the flowering grasses which sometimes look so lovely swaying with the wind. There are also different colors. If only the bus will stop a few seconds to allow me take some shots.

  18. Fabulous pix on a bumpy ride! What amazes me is that so many of the images look so much like home... I guess the planet is getting far more homogenous than we ever thought. ;)

I love all the stuff on the dashboard and windshield, although here, that kind of window dressing is not allowed. Sure does brighten things though, doesn't it!

  19. Thanks for visiting my blog. I love the bus drivers dashboard bling, I think if that was my job I would personalize my dash too. I was in Vermont recently and had the same kind of weather on my road trip, lots of rain and overcast skies.

I notice you are in copyright...I'm in copyright also at the university I work at.

Aaron - long trips make my lower back also complain, but trip to home cannot be avoided.

Bengt - thanks for dropping by and the appreciation. Even inside the bus i dont sleep, i keep working...with my camera. LOL.

Di - copyright is only one of the IP we manage here in my unit. Patents are more ?!?!?!?!
