May 2017 Sunsets
When time is not sufficient to make a full blogpost about more escapades, post the most handy, the sunsets from my 5th Floor Window. These are just some afternoons i was here at home to document my sunsets. But that is definitely not this week, as i was out of town since Tuesday, just came in this afternoon. Sunset is not visible today, clouds fully cover my horizon, a sign that the rainy season is already warning us. I am excited as the heat will dissipate in a few more days or a couple of weeks. Some afternoons are already having rains in some areas of the metropolis. In a little while, we will all receive the rains.
Meanwhile, i want to share with you the developing clouds in my horizon.
They like lingering around simultaneously while the horizon still has colors.
They are not wild birds though, they are pets from a house nearby. I guess they are pigeons. But they definitely make my horizon more beautiful.

Sunsets Approaching Rainy Season
Our dry season this year lingered for five, as in 5 months. That is very long most specially for humans and animals. It was also caused by El Niño which emanates from the Pacific Ocean. We are an archipelago facing that big vast ocean, so we are most affected by this so called "climate change". We cannot do anything anymore to alleviate it, maybe mitigating measures are surely not enough to effect felt change. Who can suddenly produce big trees in a few years? That is not possible! Besides, our land area is very small compared to the vast continents producing the climate change-inducing industrial pollutions, that small countries like us suffer first.
Be that as it may, we just console ourselves and be thankful for the invention of the airconditioners, and we just try to stay indoors during these "calamities". Staying out for a few minutes will probably cause hypertension to the elderlies, so we are vigilant.
Here are my sunset shots, that maybe the only wonderful effects of the long dry season. Clouds form nicely in the horizon, giving me lovely sunsets direct to my 5th Floor Window. These are photos taken during the last days of May, and our official Rainy Season started in June 2016. The photos are all SOOC shots (Straight out of Camera), no editing nor even cropping.

These last two shots show that sunsets will be elusive from now on, while the rainy season is ON! Thunderstorm will be the common site in the afternoons, but my lens is not fit for the lightnings.

Our Skies These Days
My 5th Floor Window skies are already famous in my blogposts! But I don't think I will ever stop in taking shots of my sunsets, i call it my sunsets because nobody in our building takes photos of the sunsets like me. And of course, these photos are mine, so My Sunsets!
Sunsets during the rainy season are more dramatic than during the cloudless dry season. So during the short day months I make sure that I will be here some weekends to document these skies. These are posted in pairs taken at the same day. These are sunsets taken last Saturday, Sunday and Monday or yesterday! I will not exchange my unit for another, just for these sunsets.

Skywatching Non-stop!
Non stop skywatching! If you are living on the 5th Floor, with a window facing the west overlooking a landscape with patches of buildings here and there, an overpass at a distance crossing a major big highway, normally full of vehicles, potpouri of trees with houses, and a big sky; where will your attention be drawn into? I look at all of them, sometimes one patch at a time.
But of course, the sunset is what i always wait to capture. And sometimes i cut office hours to just anticipate its nice performance at the end of the day! I am so privileged to have this view, so i am happy always to share them with you.
Occassionally, i am also privileged to see a rainbow in the morning. In my three years of living in this building I have seen rainbow many times. Sometimes however, it is already fading when i look outside, just like this one which i suppose is longer and brighter a few minutes ago. Just like changes in sunset colors, rainbows also quickly fades. I might not be able to locate the pot of gold at its end, but the lovely feelings i have everytime is just like finding some gold, though just only a few ingots instead of bars!

When i am sitting on my sofa, this is my picture frame, adorned with my plants purposely planted for effects. The plants' ability to filter the pollution from the vehicles nearby is just secondary. At the right are ginger plants, while at the left are hippeastrum, all plantboxes placed on top of the airconditioning unit.
A few minutes after sunset, my picture frame becomes this, the highway lined with streetlights with the farthest tall structure being the church of Iglesia ni Kristo (Church of Christ).
The morning after a full moon night, i always wake up with a moon at the west, a few meters before setting in the horizon. This eventually fades fast because of the rising sun at the opposite end of the sky.
Even with some clouds in the horizon the full moon still gives a lovely view. If i didn't tell you that this is the setting moon at the west, you might mistake it as sunrise or moon at the east with those colored rays.
