Continuation of the previous post:
You are all very familiar with these orchid type. Even if the main color is the same they usually differ in the color and shape of their lips.
If you will enlarge the above white, there is a caterpillar happily enjoying itself at the pollen cap
They are also used in flower arrangements, which make a leaf bundle look so special (above)!
...and the bamboo pieces (above) look so elegant!

You have a wide variety of gorgeous catleyas in this post. I didn't know caterpillars love orchids too. I am dreaming about my catleya and wondering when it will flower again. It seems to be growing new babies now.
ReplyDeleteI don't grow these beauties - I just admire everyone elses as I don't think I can give them the right conditions in my home for them to rebloom. I liked those ones displayed in the bamboo's - the yellow one looks quite like a cymbidium.
ReplyDelete(btw my site now loads faster than ever so you shouldn't be kept waiting too long from now on) I was thinking about you this weekend :) Rosie

I am so not familiar with orchids so please keep showing them:) The fringed ones are very pretty. They look almost like irises-the closest thing I can relate to. Very lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour orchids are AWESOME, Andrea. We don't have them here much... I did have a friend whose mother grew some kind of orchids in her sunroom (inside the house). They were pretty but NEVER as pretty as yours... SO gorgeous!!!! Thanks for sharing so many different colors and varieties.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
I haven't seen orchid blooms for a long time. What bright and pretty colors they have.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much everyone for patronizing my posts, and also those who dropped by once-in-a-while. Most of you appreciated the arrangements using bamboos, yes i liked that too, so even if they are not Catleya i added it.
