My home away from home, but near my place of work, is at the foot of a hill. It is not a steep hill but with a very gradual incline. I don't have the habit to go out of the house on weekends while here in the city. But I sometimes also explore a little bit of suburbia, and I've done that a couple of times on foot. A 15 min walk from my place reaches the top of the hill, where structures give some few conveniences; restaurants, art shops, garden settings, music school, a golf course and a few more. But I come here mostly for one thing, the sunset!
Viewed from the hilltop, this is the landscape to the east side
the golf course on the other side, the west
This is the sunset across the golf course, you can see at the horizon the always prominent structure from my 5th Floor Window, the church!
a closer shot of the setting sun
On a rather lazy afternoon, it is not a waste of time coming here, on foot or on wheels. A camera is rather a lovely paraphernalia in going there. When the sun is gone, it is time to have some pizza or an omelet and a cup of coffee. Even a lovely dinner is not bad on top of the hill. Let's have dinner!
It looks like a great spot for sunset shots Andrea. Sometimes I wished I lived on the top of a hill :) You've captured some great colours with your camera.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Rosie, my Photography expert blogging friend.

DeleteHi Andrea,
ReplyDeleteIt is nice at the end of a long workday that you have somewhere within walking distance that is relaxing and beautiful. The sun can certainly go down with a blaze of glory!
It is interesting that you make jewellery too. I started out making it for myself, but there is only so much jewellery that one woman needs. I loved making new pieces and so I started selling through one local shop. Though it does not pay well, I can't help myself! I so enjoy working with colorful beads and making pretty things!
Hi Jennifer, at least you can sustain your passion to do these beading work. I am not like you, after doing some things I don't want doing repetitions. Moreover, i don't wear them, i prefer the simple gold earings or just a ring not necklace or bracelets. Now my paraphernalia are stocked in my closet, still have lots of materials and wires including the pliers, hahaha! Sometimes i make one for someone, but not often as before. Besides, these things are not the fashion anymore here, so, there goes. thanks.
DeleteI simply LOVE the sunset picture!
ReplyDeleteThank you JunieRose, i have lots of them even at my window!
DeleteI am behind commenting to blogs....wow what a beautiful sunset...I see why you come here...a tropical paradise for sure.
