Our Outdoors!

We are still waiting for the much needed rain. Metro Manila is already raining every afternoon since June started, but our area in the province where our plants are already starving and dying still hasn't received its share. We are officially already in the rainy season, but why, it seems so unfair! Except for an early short rain in May because of a thunderstorm, we haven't been blessed with the free water! We already have three typhoons, but all the clouds went to the city, where water is not really much wanted because it is so fully cemented that leads to fast flooding. I wish clouds can easily be blown where they are more wanted.

Mother's pets: Mother and children/hen and chicks

It is good that chickens don't take a bath, but they drink water too!

even with rationed water they still feel starved and thirsty

They have to eat the plants leaves and grasses, where they can get water supplement

their father cannot do anything, i hope there is rain dance for chickens too

Oh plenty of water, but that is in the hotel grounds, no chickens allowed

...and here is another body of water, but it is in the park very far from home!

  1. Hope you get some rain soon.. Cute little chickens... Hope they can find some water.

We are desperate here for RAIN also.. AND--It's terribly hot... That is hard on our flowers/yard/garden... Temps could get over 100 degrees here this weekend. I have one word to say: YUK.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

    1. Thanks Betsy, at least in your case you have water from the pipes, it is difficult for us too. At over 100F temps, couple it with 90% relative humidity and it really is YUK!

  13. Hi Andrea, We are having a very, very dry summer here as well. Just this evening I noticed my peonies had wilted and fallen over. The heat has been bad and the dogs find it to be pure misery when the humidity and heat soars. I hope you get some rain soon for your thirsty chickens and plants.

  17. Oh my goodness, I had no idea! One of the benefits of "Our World Tuesday" is that the personal stories bring the "news" to a whole different level. I will be thinking of you (and the chickens) and hoping fervently that rain comes your way soon.

  19. We are really dry here in GA. When I run the water sprinklers, the birds jump around under the fall of the water. I enjoy watching them have so much fun splashing around in the bird baths as well. I feel sorry for the wildlife during drought times. The deer even drink out of our bird baths...

  20. That is one handsome red comb! The chicks seem to be pretty 'cool' despite the weather. Love to see how the cockerel appears to like being photographed.

    1. Hi Randy, i am so glad you are here. I have not been able to see your posts because it always close saying a malware is in your site. I hope you read this because i don't know how to get this to you. Regarding our weather, if only we in the world can trade in temperatures, rain and humidity just like our seeds and plants, i am sure we already have done that! Surely many will benefit from some of our sunshine and temperature, and we can have some of the rain from the rest of you! hahaha!

  27. You're from Batangas, aren't you, Andrea? You mean it's not raining there? I've been yearning to go swimming, but didn't go because it's not much fun when it rains. Or has the weather changed since you wrote this?
