I will be continuing my posts on the Orchid Show, since I would like to share with you a lot of the photos. Here is the first part of the landscape designs in case you did not see it yet.
This is one of the landscape designs with mostly orchids displayed. It is not so obvious at a distance but the blue orchids on top is exemplified by the close-up below.
Don't you think this blue orchid is really enticing and special?
Now here above, it might not be as striking at that distance. Can you see what is very special here? But if you will see below, you might re-think again!
The lady above, i suppose tends her garden very well. I request your gaze to her dress. The design of her dress is the formal design of the traditional Philippine gown, with the butterfly fan sleeves.
At a nearer focus, her face is really beautiful, I am sure most of you will agree! Can you imagine the owner of the garden being so enamored enough of her plants to have made them into her dress, and ...her head dress even made of the plants she strongly care for. It might be itchy though, but love conquers all. Don't you believe so? Medusa might not even dare stare on her eyes, he might be smitten and himself turn into stone!
...and this is the expanse of her garden, populated profusely with her favorite plants, she being the Tillandsia Princess.
I bet if we will visit her house, we will see the above bouquets hanging on her walls. Or maybe she also uses this as a corsage for her dress when she goes to attend parties in the forest!
Would you like to be a Tillandsia Princess!?
Wow Andrea!!! That is a really cool display of Tillandsia and friends!! I'd wear that outfit!:) Very very cleverly done all of it. The first pic is striking with all the colors.
ReplyDeleteHi Kreesh, actually even if I was alone there, i was laughing because of the Tillandsia lady. If it is only colder here like your temperatures there, i will be back again to get some more details of those i forgot, or to repeat those photos not very nicely shot.
ReplyDeleteI would like to take the lady home and be a permanent resident in my garden. I could just imagine if I was there, it would be so awesome!
ReplyDeleteOh, I was just reading your comment.
ReplyDeleteCalifornia is just so blessed with the good weather that we get to enjoy the beauty of nature whole year round. If we want snow, its just a few hours drive up to the mountains. Flowers bloom all year long.
Yes Ebie, most of my relatives and friends who are there tell us that. I am not just very privileged to make a visit. I also have a friend and relatives in Miami, with almost the same conditions as California has, my friend said her backyard is the Everglades and i am so envious. How i wish it is easy for us here in the country to save for travel, just like those in other countries. Hmmmm!
DeleteAbsolutely fabulous! Love the lady in her very special dress. The Orchids were so lovely too.
ReplyDeleteLove the garden, such colorful blooms. And that lady... how creative naman! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your romantic take on the garden mannequin. Very creative and love all those tillandsias!
ReplyDeleteAndrea that blue orchid is stunning...just lovely color and reminds me of the bearded iris I grow called Batik.
ReplyDeleteHi Donna, maybe that iris has spots on it, as Batik is an Indonesian term for the creative color designs on their clothes. I wonder what is the nationality of the iris breeder who gave that name! thanks for the visit.
DeleteOrchidee mają cudowny kolor, a księżniczka w ogrodzie jest śliczna i ma piękną suknię. Pozdrawiam. *** Orchids have a wonderful color, and the princess in the garden is lovely and has a beautiful dress. Yours.
ReplyDeleteThe "woman" in the garden is very unusual. Someone took a lot of time to create her. - Margy
ReplyDeleteActually i also scrutinized it, and i think it really didn't take a long time, just put the lady and some wire and put the plants, done! Thanks for your first visit to my post.
DeleteGreat post - love orchids and the princess is very unusual!
ReplyDeleteNow that is one very special lady and I love that close up of her and being able to see all the details. Those blue vandas are special - I know as you should see the price of them here!
ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh when I read your comment on my post - neither of us thought of the possiblity that maybe the owner was one legged and didn't need the other crutch!
Yes Rosie, very expensive, I can't imagine the price there because I can't even afford it here too.
DeleteI am glad i made you laugh with my comment, and yes maybe he has become one legged, but nothing is more astounding than yours "having a miracle happened so he doesn't need it again", more inspirational.
That lady must have stood unmoving for so long that moss and tillandsias starter to grow on her...LOL. Seriously that is one creative and fun way of highlighting the focal point of that display.
ReplyDeletehaha, yes Solitude Rising, that is not a remote possibility! I didn't think of that or else I would have said it in the post. If you do that in your farm I will know you got it from here, and you are infringing on some copyright, LOL!
DeleteBeautiful garden and the dress is very creative.
ReplyDeleteWow! This is very creative indeed! Gorgeous girl and outfit!
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyable to watch the out of this world tillandsia creations.
ReplyDeleteTruly it was like a Spanish Princess..
ReplyDeleteopps... Spanish Moss Princess.
Lovely..
The orchids are beautiful, but the Princess is stunning.
ReplyDeleteThat woman is FABULOUS! I love the blue orchid too...what lovely plants...they are quickly trying to take over the roses's standing in my heart (but not quite...)
ReplyDeleteI haven't ever seen a Princess standing in a garden like that before. It is kind of eerie.
ReplyDeleteJoyce M
Hi Joyce, i haven't as well, but in tropical setting it is provoking laughter and merriment, i guess the designer is a bit naughty too! And who would think that plants can be made as dress as formal and more decent than Adam and Eve! haha.
DeleteBeautiful pics of all those fresh flowers. Really a cheerful post, loved the blue orchids the most!!
ReplyDeleteThe lady looks after her garden pretty well indeed!
Thanks for sharing the pics, have a wonderful day:)
Thanks Arti for dropping by, it seems like most people including me are biased to the blue orchids. The uncommon beauty is always preferred by us!
DeleteRYC - tide pools, these are rock pools that are filled with water. You can see a lot of marine life like star fish, anemone, sea weeds see urchin barnacles. Check out my post on this link
ReplyDeleteTidepools
Your photos are amazing, truly awesome!
ReplyDeleteAmazing display of flowers and the Tillandsia woman is something else!
ReplyDeleteWow. That is crazy impressive! A giant leap away from the typical tillandsia wreath!
ReplyDeleteSuper liked the Lady in Foliage. Camouflaged and yet so very beautiful! Interesting n unique display ideas!
