These are my plants that are already flowering. They will continue this way, as they are mostly perennial plants.
one of my vanda orchids left from previous collections
Turnera ulmifolia growing nicely even during the dry season, but lovelier with the rains
Pentas lanceolata red experienced dryback last season, now starting to be lush again
roses are showing the new leaves, favorably producing more leaves to favor flowering
this shrimp plant dwindles also without water, but we maintained
it to at least live and wait for the rains
another Pentas lanceolata, with bigger umbels
even the adenium looks happy now
a perennial lantana which has been here for several years are just pruned at the start of the rainy season to be rejuvenated. It is a favorite of the butterflies too.
i love the new lantana shoots showing some colors as protection from UV rays
Crinum zeylanicum only flowers during rainy season, its scent is lovely too. It experienced defoliation by several moth larvae last dry months
This Hippeastrum X johnsonii, have a few scapes latently arising even after months of rains.
This Salvia also dwindled during the dry months, but we kept it alive to wait for the rains. Now it is flowering profusely and beautifully.
There is still a lot of flowering plants this season, i just limit the crowded photos in a post. These are just a few of our plants, a lot more are seen around including my hoyas. They need a whole post for themselves.
Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteLove all the red colors!
Thank you Lea for visiting, please drop by again sometime.
DeleteYour garden looks like a public botanical garden. You surely have green thumbs.
ReplyDeleteHahaha Maria, they are not as beautiful when viewed outside the photos!
DeleteWonderful summer flowers, wonderful photos of them. I like the Pentas lanceolata with the butterfly and the Vanda orchid is such a beauty, sigh.....they are all so pretty.....
ReplyDeleteYes Judy, we have summer flowers all year round as the coldest of our climate is maybe hotter than your hottest!
DeleteYour plants are all looking very healthy and clearly they are enjoying the rains! I spotted the butterfly!! Whenever we are on holiday somewhere hot I always search out Lantana plants as I know butterflies won't be far away.
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of butterflies around us these days, because plenty of plants for the larvae. But i don't have time to photograph them. I put the camera near the hoya so when they come near when i am working, then i can have their photos.
DeleteWhat wonderful colour. Reward for all your gardening efforts.
ReplyDeleteLantana in Australia, is a noxious weed, but it does have lovely blooms.
Yes Helen, even the wild lantana here are very invasive. But in the part of our property that is just left there, the clearings under the lantana bushes serve good covers for our roaming native chicken during the dry seasons. They love it there. I still want to plant the domesticated lantana for the butterflies, but i still havent got the plants, haha. I've always wanted them but haven't the time to really do it.
DeleteI used to finf these lovely tropical flowers back when I was living in the provinces. Now that I live in the Metro, I seldom see these now. Thanks for the photos coz it brought back happy memories. :)
ReplyDeleteWhich ones of those do you mean? They are a mix of plants from different sources, and some are hybrids which you will not probably see anywhere but other countries.
