Mirror Images

Sorry for the pun! But these are really images i shot through glass windows.

I was in the university last month, my alma mater, doing some prior art search for some inventions. The building is a bit far from the campus, with a still rural landscape beside the rice fields and experimental fields. It is far ahead of the International Rice Research Institute, which owns most of the rice fields in my view.

This is the view at the West side of the building

This is also at the west side of the building. At far right is Mt Makiling, a natural forest reserve.

South view: fruit trees and forest trees

East view

The East view horizon shows more mountains, which are more visible in the mornings when it is not as hazy as this time of the day.

  1. Andrea, whenever I visit your blog, it is like a desktop travel to the Philippines. I love how you photograph the outskirts and outdoors views for our reading pleasure. So many similarities on the part of nature that we share on Earth!

    1. Thank you so much Autumn Belle. I have always been shooting everytime i go home, but it is so difficult inside moving buses. If only I can stop the bus and just shoot for sometime, haha!

  2. Your university is surrounded by beauty. Whenever I photograph back yard birds, the majority of the time I photograph through windows.

    1. Oh yes our university campus is very wide, and there's a lot of tourist areas around, these are just a very few views of them. Thank you so much for your visit.

  3. That's some amazing shots Andrea considering they are through glass. I don't get them that good without the glass. :)

  4. Looks like a beautiful setting. I like how the mountain rises so abruptly from the flat plain.

    1. Hello Jason, actually this is only just a hill with other nearby hills in a range as foot of the bigger mountain. Thanks for coming over again.

    1. Hi Mark, so you've seen Makiling! That's good to know. Actually this is not yet Makiling but just a small hill around it, Mt Makiling is usually covered with fog these days. It is shy in the rainy months!

  6. Hi There, I do alot of 'mirror images' too... Yours are great. I am usually in the car --taking pictures through the front windshield...Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't...

Hope you have a great week, Andrea.
    Hugs,
